I've really struggled with my skin the last year and a half. I spent countless hours at the dermatologist, I tried R+F (I even sold it for a bit), all natural products, prescription drugs and lots more to get rid of my cystic acne and NOTHING worked. I cried in front of the mirror and wanted to hide where no one could see my skin. I got really good at editing zits out of pictures......ha. It was BAD. And I'm not even exaggerating the tiniest bit. About six months ago, with the help of my dermatologist and esthetician, I finally got it under control (praise the good Lord in heaven) and have had relatively normal skin ever since.
I kept using the same products my dermatologist recommended because I was absolutely and completely terrified of causing another outbreak and back stepping my progress. I knew, though, that I would eventually have to start slowly transitioning to an anti-aging product because 30 is gonna be here before I know it. So, when Influenster sent me a box filled with Lancer's The Method, I figured it was time to give it a try. I was a little hesitant because I had never heard of the company before, but when I learned they sold it at Sephora, I instantly felt better.
The Lancer Method comes with three products + an eye cream. The first step is a polish (basically an exfoliator) that smooths the surface of your skin to accelerate cell turnover. The second step is a cleanser with a built-in toner to balance your pH levels. The third is a moisturizer. The regimen is supposed to give you smoother, brighter and more youthful looking skin.

What I liked about The Method:
- The polish and cleanser smelled amazing! The polish had an herbal scent and the cleanser was bright and refreshing - grapefruit maybe?
- I loved how smooth the polish made my skin feel immediately afterwards, it was like I just finished a microderm!
- The eye cream and lotion both soaked in quickly but still left my skin feeling very plump and moisturized. I hate when lotion is greasy or when it stays on your skin and makes you feel sweaty! It was easy to apply makeup afterwards.
- The eye cream also really helped with dark circles and puffiness.
What I didn't like:
- Exfoliating twice a day was a little harsh for me. It took some getting used to and kind of irritated my skin for a few days. If you have really sensitive skin, I wouldn't recommend it.
- The lotion smelled like sour towels. I'm very sensitive to that type of smell and it drove me nuts to put it on my face, right up next to my nose!
- The eye cream aggravated the eczema on my eyelids
- I started getting some acne again. Sad face. I think it was do to the accelerated cell turnover - my skin was moving faster and pushing dirt out more often than usual. That being said, the zits did go away within 24 hours each time.
Personally, I didn't really see a ton of positive changes in my skin after two+ weeks. I don't think it looks any better, but it also doesn't look worse, either. All the exfoliating made my skin super smooth immediately after using the products, but it seemed to be rougher than normal as the day went on.
Needless to say, if you are happy with your current skin care routine, I wouldn't necessarily recommend switching to The Lancer Method. However, if you are not happy with your skin care and are looking for something new to try, it may be worth a shot! You can purchase it at Sephora.
Influenster sent me this sample for free in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
