With all the traveling we’ve been doing lately, finding the time and energy for healthy meal prep has been hard. I say we, but I mean Cole, ha! He does all our cooking and meal prep (how lucky am I, right?!). Trader Joe’s is just a few minutes away, so they make it easy to "meal prep" in a time crunch! I thought I’d share some of our go-to items for quick and easy meals that fit into our flexible dieting nutrition plan as well as a few delicious treats. I love when other people recommend specific items at TJ’s, so I wanted to do the same for you - this is not sponsored in any way.
Turkey Meatballs
We always always always have these on hand! They are super easy to heat up in the microwave and delicious on top of pasta, in an Asian bowl, on a sandwich....you name it. Probably my favorite TJ's item (with the exception of Cookie Butter, obviously).
Chili Lime Chicken Burgers
They come raw and frozen, so be prepared to cook them!
They are good on a bun or just as a patty with guac and salsa on top.

Shiitake Mushroom Chicken
I didn't realize how much I liked shiitakes until I tried this frozen dinner!
It is super easy (microwavable) - we serve it over rice.

Red Lentil or Black Bean Pasta
These pastas are slightly healthier than regular pasta (at least I like to think so). They are delicious served with the meatballs above or with seasoned chicken. I'm especially partial to a simple butter, garlic and parmesan pan sauce mixture.
Chimichurri Rice
Packed full of flavor! We use it to make healthy homemade Chipotle bowls with meat and lettuce and salsa - a little goes a long way, which is nice when you're counting macros. I'm all about the volume foods.
Green Dragon Hot Sauce
No calories, delicious and makes everything better. Need I say more?
Veggie Patties
One of the few ways I'll consume veggies without making a stank face. Ha! But seriously. The cauliflower & broccoli patties are slightly better macros, but the carrot and pea ones are probably tastier!
Reduced Guilt Mac & Cheese
Its no Kraft, but this frozen reduced guilt version will suffice in a pinch and will *almost* cure my constant mac & cheese craving.
Note: Sometimes we get the non-reduced guilt versions and split them, adding meat on top! The pepperoni pizza and hatch chili flavors are goooood.
Smoked Andouille Sausage
High protein, low fat, and delicious. Good served in a "healthy" cajun dish like jambalaya or red beans and rice or eaten on a bun with peppers!
Cornbread Crips
OK, these aren't overly macro friendly, but they are GOOD. I'll leave it at that.
Sesame Soy Ginger Vinaigrette
Fat free and low carb, but full flavor. This vinaigrette is fantastic on an Asian style salad.
Pumpkin Bread
I tried to limit the seasonal items in this post, but I had to give a shoutout to the boxed pumpkin bread mix.
This stuff is fantastic, easy and tastes completely homemade.

Coffee Pods
I've gotten to where I buy all my coffee pods from TJ's! They are affordable, fresh and delicious. The Pumpkin flavor is the bomb dot com, but all the types I've tried have been rich and delicious.
Gone Bananas
The perfect, satisfying ending to dinner! They are just chocolatey enough without being too much. My only complaint is that I want to eat the whole box.
Cinnamon Grahams
Literally the best graham crackers I've ever tasted! They are thick, crisp and covered in sweet cinnamon.
They make killer s'mores, too.....just sayin.

Cookie Butter
Last but definitely not least. If you haven't tried it, you're missing out on life. Best eaten by the spoonful.
Do you have any Trader Joe's go-tos that weren't on my list? If so, please let me know in the comments. I definitely want to give them a try.
