For now, I'm gonna share a few things that have happened in real life this month for my monthly Friday Favorites post. It has definitely been a challenging month in the Martin household but a good one.

We picked out our Christmas tree the Saturday after Thanksgiving! It is our first real tree together as a couple and it looks so good in our house! I couldn't resist snapping this pic at the Midtown Pop-Up Shops with the bistro lights and Devon tower in the background. It gives me all the Christmas feels.
Dun dun dun.....surgery day. I had shoulder surgery on a torn labrum two weeks ago (the labrum is the suction cup that holds the shoulder in socket). We knew it was torn on the back side, but during surgery they discovered the tear was worse than they thought + they found an addition tear on the front. My surgeon said the second I went under, my shoulder literally fell out of socket because the only thing holding it in place was my muscles, yikes! Luckily it was a smooth surgery with a clean repair. I'm recovering quickly and doing well now, but it wouldn't have been possible without the help of my husband and my mom. C literally has to dress me, fix my hair, shave my armpits, tie my shoes, cook for me and drive me places every day! I will be a very happy camper when my sling comes off in January and I can start washing my hair with two hands and adding some cardio back into my daily routine. My current workout is picking up the remote while watching Netflix. I should get a medal for how many episodes of Pretty Little Liars I've watched in two weeks.
These two! They have been such good nurses since my surgery. Every time I'm on the couch icing my shoulder they are by my side. I think they would make great emotional support dogs! 😉
This phone case is almost too perfect for me! Case Station reached out and offered me the opportunity to design it myself, so of course I went with two of my favorite things: dogs and donuts! They have lots of designs you can choose from or they offer tools to help you design your own for a variety of phones and even apple watches! I love the concept...and being able to truly make it all mine! Case Station is currently doing a "7 Days of Gifting" promotion and today's special is 20% off the entire site until midnight! 7% of their profits will go to the childhood cancer research charity, Gold in September. Their cases would make a great last minute Christmas gift....or a great gift for yourself..... There's no shame in that! Their production time and shipping is super fast, too, so it can still get here before the big day.
"Brown paper packages tied up with string... these are a few of my favorite things." Wrapping presents was a little difficult this year since I only have one working arm.....so is typing up this blog post, ha! My fantastic college roomie Candace offered to come over and do all my wrapping for me - I didn't even realize I needed help until she offered. She's just the best. I found this wrapping set at Target for $10; we were so impressed with the quality of the paper!
