According to their website, En Croute is meant to evoke the comfort and leisurely lifestyle enjoyed in the fromageries, cafes and bars in European country villages but with an American twist. I'd say that is an accurate description! The cafe was eclectic yet simple with definite European charm in the decor; tile floors, marble tables, and seating similar to the cafes we visited in in Paris. The little bistro tables out front gave it the perfect touch! I definitely felt like we stepped into a little piece of Europe in our own hometown!
As I stated earlier, I got a charcuterie board. I was able to pick my meats with the Cheese Monger's board, but they also offer boards of the day and a la carte boards. I loved the raspberry jam they served with it to sweeten up your pallet. C got the cheeseburger made with wagyu beef...holy taste buds. It was so juicy and mouthwatering....one of the best burgers I've ever tasted! I reeeeally wanted to try the Pistachio Honey Cheesecake for dessert but we both felt absolutely miserable after stuffing our faces. Next time, though!! I've heard their brunch is phenomenal, too....I'm ready to go back any time! Who's coming with me??
I absolutely loved our experience at En Croute - I would say it is a nice, upscale restaurant without feeling too pretentious or fancy. It is the perfect place for a celebratory brunch, a girl's night or a date night to impress. I've been told you can purchase their cheese boards and charcuteries to-go to serve at home, as well.... if I ever throw a dinner party, I'll have to remember that!
OKC friends - have you ever eaten here? If so, what did you think? What did you order? I'd love to hear! If you haven't tried it yet, be sure to add it to your list! You won't be disappointed.
