For those that don't know, I had shoulder surgery on a torn labrum six weeks ago (I hurt it renovating our house last year, not at the gym). The labrum is the suction cup that holds your shoulder in socket. It will be a really long recovery....like, nine months to a year or more.... It is a little discouraging to see my muscles shrivel away, but I know I will eventually get back to where I was physically before I was injured. I'm excited to start seeing real progress in the coming weeks as I begin to move my arm and add some cardio back into my routine. For now, though, I'll just let you check out my scars in a few of the following pictures. Off-the-shoulder and cold-shoulder tops are my favorite right now because I can show off my battle wounds!
In other news, Influenster sent me some Maybelline products to test out and review for you all (I'm wearing these products in the pictures, for reference). Keep reading to see my thoughts - I always try to be honest with you guys, so that's what I'm gonna do.

This palette is beautiful! I love the light pinks, purples and gold colors + all the shimmer. However, it doesn't really show up on my skin. I have to apply multiple layers in order to see it at all. It is more of a creamy texture as opposed to a powder, which makes blending super easy, but what good does that do if you can't see the products? I do like that the palette offers two shadow palettes plus two highlighters, it makes it ideal to travel with so you don't have to carry multiple product containers. I will probably keep using it from time to time, especially when I travel, but I won't buy it again.
This is probably may favorite product from the collection. It fills in your brows smoothly and quickly and gives them a really natural look (not too drawn on), plus I really like the shape of the brow brush. However, the product does not stay on well at all! After applying setting powder and finishing spray, I have to reapply the brow filler. It seems like it sticks to the hairs and makes them appear thicker, but it doesn't stay on the skin, if that makes sense. It kind of defeats the purpose of filling in your browns IMO. I will probably keep using it, but I think there are better options out there for the same price point.
I really do not like this mascara at all. It is very wet and goopy so when I apply it, it smudges everywhere. It also does not stick to my lashes at all and does not lengthen. Like the shadows, it takes several layers to even show up and by that point, it looks too thick and gunky. Once it dries, it flakes off or smears residue around your eye lids if your skin is even remotely oily. I do not recommend purchasing this.
