Hello hello!! Happy Friday, friends and family! We made it to the end of the week....aaaand the end of the month! Oklahoma has been in the midst of a heat wave lately (I'm talking 110+ degrees for days in a row) so I am glad that the months seem to be flying....your girl is ready to wear some of her fall N-Sale purchases, stat!
Though we didn't get to travel anywhere exciting in July, it was still a super busy month. You might remember I had gallbladder surgery at the end of June so I spent the first few weeks of the month taking it easy but I'm back in the swing of things and feeling a million times better! It's crazy to think that getting rid of an organ can make your body so much happier. Besides that, I've still been loving my new 4-Runner, teaching my Beyond 500 classes, working hard at my day job, working like crazy on growing the blog, doing a lot of fun collabs and gearing up for several exciting trips in the next few months. Though there hasn't been any specific huge events lately to share, life in general has just been hectic! I've been running around like a crazy person and am in need of a relaxing weekend!

4th of July was a quiet one - it's always weird when it is on a Wednesday. C and I borrowed our friend Dayton's pool while he was out of town. It was kinda nice to have a quiet day all to ourselves in the sunshine. I got the worst sunburn on my legs, though, it has been a hot second since I burnt that bad!

We got to try several new restaurants that opened in OKC - definitely one of my favorite parts of blogging! Wheelhouse Pizza Kitchen and Hopdoddy both get two thumbs up! Wheelhouse has some of the biggest pizzas I've ever seen...they totally fulfilled my pizza craving! I loved the mix of pineapple and jalapeño on the Skinny Samoan.
True story about Hopdoddy: on one of our first trips together, I got SO MAD at C when he wouldn't wait in the line that wrapped around the building at the Austin, Texas Hopdoddy. Luckily, I was invited to the OKC locations media preview event so we didn't have to wait in line. If we did, though, it would have been worth it. I'm still day dreaming about their truffle fries and the nutella pretzel shake! I'll be back v. soon.

We went to several weddings this month, both my friend's and C's friends. I wore the same dress to both.....Lizzie McGuire was an outfit repeater so I can be, too, right? Since we met at one, weddings are always extra fun to me. And, I mean, any excuse to eat cake, am I right?!
My leggings are a part of the N-Sale and are so stretchy and comfy! |
I tried a new workout at a Pure Barre Edmond blogger event....let's just say I am most definitely a power athlete and I really struggled with those little pulses haha. It is important to "trick" your body, though, and I always love seeing my blogger babes! I definitely recommend Pure Barre to people who don't love lifting heavy - it is no joke and will make you work! My side booty was sore for days. However, it just made me miss crossfit really bad.....I'm counting the days until October when I'm fully released from shoulder surgery....I'm ready to get my crossfit body back!

And of course, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.....I think it took up 90% of my brain function in July but I scored some incredible deals. I even got to spend a girl's day road tripping to Dallas to go shopping! It was a long day in the car down and back, but was totally worth it. The sale is still going strong through August 5 - you can view all of my N-Sale posts here!
By the way, this orange corduroy skirt is one of my N-Sale purchases. I didn't realize how much my outfit matched my dog until I came home for lunch haha. Had to snap a pick! Orange, black and white - Go Pokes!
What have you been up to this month? Any weekend plans? My high school bestie is coming to visit and we have some fun things in store.....bikes and brews and wine and cheese to name a few! Be sure to stay tuned to Insta-stories and check the blog next week to see what I'm talking about.
Whatever you are up to, I hope your weekend is full of relaxation and fun. Thanks for reading!
