Raise your hand if you're a coffee addict! 🙋🏼♀️ I legit don't think I could survive without coffee in the mornings. It is as much a part of my morning routine as washing my face or brushing my hair. I am a bit of a coffee snob and always make my "fancy" coffee at home in the mornings (as opposed to drinking work coffee, bleh). Recently I've gotten in a terrible habit of wanting a post-lunch / afternoon pick-me-up beverage....it's usually a drink from Starbucks (hello, gold star member here!), a Diet Coke or a zero calorie energy drink. When it comes to Starbucks, though, it can be hard to order a drink that is both delicious and low-calorie (some grande lattes have like 400 calories and 50+ grams of carbs - that's more than a typical meal for me). I have a few staple low-cal drinks that I love and thought I would share them! I polled my Instagram followers a while back and am sharing some of their suggestions below, as well.
First, though, let's talk about my outfit!! I wore this on C and my four-year anniversary day date last weekend. We got brunch (with all the coffee, duh) and then got afternoon cocktails! Roma Designer Jewelry sent me this Swarovski Crystal bracelet and I just love the simple sparkle it gave to my look. It is so elegant and classic - it shimmered in the sunlight right along with my wedding rings. It's technically a "friendship" bracelet but I think friendship is one of the most important parts of a marriage so it seemed fitting to wear it on our special date. The tennis bracelet will never go out of style and it is so easy to pair with all of my outfits (and even stack with other jewels). I know I'll be wearing it for years to come!
I've loved Swarovski crystals ever since I was a little girl - my dad would bring home their yearly Christmas ornament each winter and I loved to watch them sparkle in the sunlight. Apparently some things never change because I love to watch this crystal bracelet sparkle in the sun, too! And the crystals pair so nicely with my coffee addiction, haha. I'm high maintenance, it's fine. You guys know I love working with Roma Designer Jewelry, but this is probably my favorite piece of their's to date. They have something for everyone - every budget, every style, every metal and every color! You can get a discount site with with code AMANDASOK20 and free shipping on orders over $50!
Healthy Starbucks Drinks
Most Starbucks drinks list their nutrition facts in the Starbucks app! You will have to estimate the nutrition facts if you change the milk, syrup, toppings, etc., but it's a good starting point to base your calories off of.
You can always substitute milks and sugar free syrups. I never put sugar in my tea or coffee (so many calories) but you can substitute different zero calorie sugars, as well. I believe Starbucks has SF vanilla and SF cinnamon dolce syrups year round (other flavors rotate depending on the season). Skim milk will have the least calories over all and almond milk is pretty low in calories...coconut milk is higher in fat so I typically avoid it. You can ask for lattes by name (i.e. vanilla latte) and request them be made "skinny" (so, skim milk, no whipped cream, and sugar free syrup) but it's usually cheaper just to order coffee or a plain latte/flat white/etc. and add in your own choices for syrup, sugar and milk.
This graph shows you the difference in espresso beverages - the less milk, the less calories! You can mix and match drink styles, types of milks and syrups to create your own low calorie beverage!
My Favorites
Hot:
- Americano (zero calories, but you have to like strong black coffee!)
- Almond Milk Latte
- Almond Milk Flat White w/a pump of SF Syrup (I like Cinnamon Dolce)
Cold:
- Iced coffee or cold brew, sometimes with a splash of milk (zero calories if black, calories depend on milk choice). Sometimes I ask for it blended for a frappe consistency!
Non-Coffee:
- Passion Tango Tea (unsweet, zero cals). Sometimes I ask for it blended to give it a frappe consistency! It is a bit tangy but I love it!
- Pineapple Black Tea (unsweet)
Follower Recommendations
- Peach Citrus White Tea (unsweet)
- Strawberry Acai Refresher, light ice, no strawberry inclusions - fruit adds carbs!
- Salted Caramel Cold Foam Cold Brew w/three pumps of SF Vanilla
- Black Tea / Lemonade (unsweet) - note that lemonade will add carbs!
- Peach Green Tea / Green Tea Lemonade (unsweet)
- Dirty Chai Latte (80 cals) - order a grande chai tea latter, sub almond milk, one pump of chai, two pumps SF vanilla, shot of blonde espresso (I'M SO TRYING THIS TODAY!!)
- Low Carb Pink Drink - Unsweet Passion Tango Tea, add Strawberry Infusion, light coconut milk, scoop of strawberries (or no strawberries for less carbs), two stevia/splenda

Here are a few general tips to lowering the calorie count on your coffee:
- Substitute skim or almond milk
- Request sugar free syrup or order unsweet
- If you can't handle the chemical-like flavor or SF syrup, ask for less pumps of regular syrup
- Order no-whip
- Order it "skinny," i.e. non-fat milk, sugar free syrup
- Instead of a frappe, order your drink "blended" - they'll just blend your beverage with ice!
What are your go-to healthy Starbucks drinks? I always love to try other people's low-cal ideas and concoctions so please leave me some in the comments.
Thanks for reading, it means so much!
